Open-angle glaucoma (OAG) is a disease of the eye; it is the most common cause of irreversible blindness in the world. Initially, the disease is asymptomatic; however, if it is detected in a timely manner, effective treatment can be initiated and vision loss may be slowed.
This program supports optometrists in optimizing glaucoma management by reviewing the diagnostic procedures that can be used to detect glaucoma early in its course and by focusing on treatment options to help ensure effective management of patients with glaucoma at various stages of the disease continuum.
Using a case-study format, the program will review the initial and ongoing evaluation of patients with glaucoma, and will also cover the topical agents that can be used to treat this condition.
This program has received an educational grant or in-kind support from Allergan an AbbVie company.
