Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of this continuing education module, you will be better able to:

  1. Review the digestion and utilization of different macronutrients
  2. Discuss the importance of micronutrients when designing a nutrition intervention for weight reduction
  3. Explore the most common nutrition interventions used for weight reduction
  4. Examine the role of physical activity in weight loss and overall health
  5. Prescribe an exercise plan for a patient

Accreditation

Each module within the Advanced Obesity Management Program has been individually accredited. The program is expected to take participants approximately 16 to 20 hours to complete, depending on your pace. Program certificates are offered once all module requirements are completed. This program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited for Mainpro+ Credits. This activity has been approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners QI&CPD Program (accreditation expires on August 9, 2019). Program available online until: June 19, 2020.
