Diabetes has been classified as one of the largest global health emergencies of the 21st century. Each year, more Canadians are diagnosed with this serious chronic condition. Real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) technology has emerged as an important tool in the management of diabetes by providing real-time insights into glucose levels, thus enabling more proactive and precise interventions to optimize outcomes for people living with diabetes. Real-time continuous glucose monitoring offers several benefits for individuals with diabetes, including continuous monitoring, preventative and timely alerts, reduced hypoglycemia risk, enhanced diabetes management and improved quality of life.
