Infertility is an increasing public health concern that affects one in eight couples and over 180 million people worldwide. Among currently available fertility treatments, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is the most successful and common with more than 2 million IVF cycles performed globally each year. In an IVF clinic, a fertility nurse may be involved in various aspects of the multidisciplinary team’s scope of practice. This video series discusses the roles and responsibilities of IVF nurses; nursing support of patients in their IVF journey; physical, emotional and legal considerations for IVF nurses; roles and responsibilities of the multidisciplinary team; and ethical considerations in IVF.
